Commercially, "The Color Violet" became a sleeper hit after going viral on TikTok.[1]

Composition edit

HotNewHipHop described "The Color Violet" as "a late-night cruising anthem that was a part of the 80s transformation that we saw seem to dip into on the record".[2]

Music video edit

The official music video for the song was released on November 6, 2023, while Lanez was in jail.[3]

Commercial performance edit

Following the song going viral, the song became a minor hit in some countries, debuting at number 99 on the UK Singles Chart on November 25, 2022. The song additionally reached number 63 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 24 on the Canadian Hot 100.[4][5]
