I have grouped the parties into eras as the template was getting a bit unwieldy. Although the PKI was formed in the pre-dependence era, it was most prominent in the Sukarno era, so I have put it there. The Great Indonesia Party was re-established after independence, but was most active in the pre-independence era, so I put it there. A few parties lasted a few years of the New Order until the forced mergers in 1973, but I have included them in the Sukarno era, except for Parmusi, which was formed in 1968.
