Town Range edit

Town Range with St Mary's School, Gibraltar

  • ... that Town Range (street and old barracks pictured) was once known as the filthiest spot in Gibraltar?

5x expanded by Dr. Blofeld (talk), Prioryman (talk). Nominated by Prioryman (talk) at 06:33, 17 July 2013 (UTC).

Notification to reviewers
Per the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Did you know/GibraltarPediA Options, Gibraltar-related articles are temporarily being reviewed by two individuals. In addition to the regular DYK criteria, at least one reviewer should also indicate whether they perceive any conflict of interest or promotional concerns about the article under review. IP addresses and Victuallers are not allowed to do the reviews. When you have completed a review, please update the respective table below to change the background color to green and note that the review has been completed.

  • Looks good to me. 5x expand looks okay, long enough, sourced and unbiased. Hook is interesting, cited in line and not unduly negative (it only says it was known as the filthiest spot in Gibraltar, not that it unequivocally was) Cliftonian (talk) 13:16, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

  • Most of the sources are offline, the nearest reference to the "filthiest" part of the article used in the hook is a sentence away, and the article does not provide a quotation from the source to verify what it says. Certainly the online sources verify that it was known as filthy, but not that it was the most filthy part of the town. Can a quotation be provided that directly supports the hook, please? —David Eppstein (talk) 22:07, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
  • I've added a reference which should help - the area around Boyd's Buildings on the north end of the street are described as "the filthiest spot in Gibraltar", a phrase I took directly from the source. Prioryman (talk) 20:15, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Ok, that was the only issue I found, so I think this is now good to go. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:00, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Not sure why there was no boilerplate reminder that Gilbraltar hooks need to have at least one of the two reviewers state whether any promotional or COI aspects were found in the article, but there wasn't so they didn't. Unfortunately, that means final approval must be delayed until a reviewer makes such a statement. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:20, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
  • The boilerplate seems to have been omitted for the last few reviews, actually - not sure how that happened. I've restored it now and will ask one of the reviewers to do the (as you know very well) completely unnecessary check. Prioryman (talk) 07:29, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
  • I perceive no promotional or COI factors in the article. Cliftonian (talk) 19:08, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Restoring approval tick now that a reviewer has state there are no promotional/COI aspects to the article. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:29, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
