The Boat Race 1861

edit
  • Reviewed: Not a self-nomination.

Improved to Good Article status by The Rambling Man (talk). Nominated by Bloom6132 (talk) at 22:49, 12 November 2014 (UTC).

  • Hook probably needs more context as we can't assume everyone will know that the Boat Race is between two British universities. Will add full review when this is sorted as it's otherwise good to go. Cowlibob (talk) 14:03, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
  • Previous DYKs on The Boat Race here did not need to specify that the event is between two British universities, so neither should this one. Even the The Boat Race article doesn't need disambiguation, so we can assume that most people will know what it is (especially when I specify "University" at the front). New review requested. —Bloom6132 (talk) 13:39, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
A hook doesn't need to be fully self-explanatory -- it's OK for the reader to be slightly intrigued -- "Hmmm.. What's this "Boat Race"? <click>" EEng (talk) 05:19, 18 November 2014 (UTC) Just out of curiosity, how many more Boat Race hooks do we have to look forward to?
  • Bloom has indicated they're ok with me continuing the review.[[1]] I'm a fairly new reviewer so wanted to play it safe but if no issue then I shall defer to the wiser DYKer above. Article is new enough (GA on November 12), long enough, NPOV, appropriate inline citations, and no copyright/plagiarism/ close paraphrasing issues. Hook is interesting, NPOV, and cited in line. AGF on offline source. No QPQ required as not self nom. Good to go. Cowlibob (talk) 21:09, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
