@George Ho: why would you do something like that? Do you think that every article tied to a date has to be included in Selected Anniversaries? Your decisions on DYK hooks are becoming disruptive. Yoninah (talk) 21:59, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Excellent work, as always. New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. A few comments:
  • Why isn't this called Disappearance of Sodder children in keeping with other page titles?
I followed the example of Beaumont children disappearance, which like this one sounds less awkward when we're dealing with multiple persons. Daniel Case (talk) 23:53, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
  • IMO all of the hooks are wordy and clunky. Please also remember that the majority of hooks on December 24 will be about Christmas, so maybe this hook shouldn't be so graphic. Could you offer another suggestion?
There are several alts that aren't graphic. Were they not enough? Daniel Case (talk) 23:53, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I sort of see what you're saying now. Ahem ... bad things happen on and around Christmas whether we want them to or not. I cannot find a hook that would sufficiently sugarcoat this ... the fact is that the fire that destroyed their house set this story in motion. If you don't want the hook with the beef liver, fine. In fact, ALT2 doesn't mention the fire at all. Daniel Case (talk) 00:00, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
Second look: ALT3 looks pretty good. Not sure if they'll run the picture, what with Christmas lights and Christmas beetles in the queue, but it stands up pretty well on its own. Yoninah (talk) 00:40, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
I'll do another one. Daniel Case (talk) 23:53, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Well, I just did Texas A&M–Commerce Lions women's volleyball as well, so we're really good. Daniel Case (talk) 04:31, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
  • ALT3 hook ref verified and cited inline. Image is public domain. QPQ done. ALT3 good to go for December 24. Yoninah (talk) 09:40, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
