Shite-hawk

edit

Black Kite, known in military slang as the 'shite-hawk'

  • ... that shite-hawk was originally a military slang name given to the Black Kite (pictured), but in recent years the name has also been applied to the Red Kite?

  • Article length and dates are OK, sourcing looks good. AGF on plagiarism -- I can't access the sources. Hooks are appropriate in length and format; AGF on hook sourcing. Image licensing is appropriate. As for the hooks, I don't like ALT-1 -- it seems like undue negativity about a living person. I think that the concept for the original hook can be made more interest with some rewording. Here's one idea:
The suggested ALT2 hook appears valid to me, based on the article, but I'd like BabelStone to confirm that it is consistent with the sources. If so, the hook is ready to go! --Orlady (talk) 02:07, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I think that is a much better hook, although the mention of the Red Kite is a little redundant now, so I would go with the simpler Alt3 below. BabelStone (talk) 15:50, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
  • ALT3 works for me! --Orlady (talk) 15:56, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
