Interesting woman, one source that I can read, two Latvian ones accepted AGF. I never heard the term "matriculating". Can you mention that novels were published posthumously? Can you support the "successful" in the lead by facts? How do you feel about an infobox? - The English source supports the hook, however I think it says nothing about her. Anything more personal? (mention novel? pen name? start with literature for children? political involvement? - anything would be better than that she died poor because of politics, which is sadly true for many. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:34, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
I have addressed these points Gerda but I'm not sure they make a substantive improvement. I have no issue with infoboxes either way. If you have a better suggestion for a hook then feel free to have a go. Victuallers (talk) 16:48, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
I gave you ideas but if I word it I can't approve it, - your choice ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:04, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Reworded, simpler:
ALT2:... that novel writer Regīna Ezera campaigned for a free Latvia, but suffered financially as a result of the fall of communism?
