Puerto Baquerizo Moreno
edit- ...
that the Natural History Museum of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (town pictured) in the Galápagos Islands contains a statue of Charles Darwin at the entrance?
5x expanded by Nvvchar (talk), Rosiestep (talk), and Dr. Blofeld (talk). Nominated by Dr. Blofeld (talk) at 08:59, 21 June 2015 (UTC).
- What did I say about not stalking you? I forget. Age, length, neutrality Ok. QPQ done. No copyvio or plagiarism; hook cited. Picture OK, but doesn't really show the town and a bit dull at DYK size, up to the promoter if they want to use it (we could play "Where's Wally the Sea Lion?" with it, but he's obvious). Not a DYK deal-breaker but the climate section should be rearranged as it is messy talking about rainfall in two separate sections and swapping leading units from F to C. - I have pulled this from prep 1 as I think the hook is substandard. Suggested alt:
- ALT1: ... that the national park visitor centre of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (town pictured) in the Galápagos Islands has a unique display of a rebuilt ship's hold filled with upturned giant tortoises? Gatoclass (talk) 16:35, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- ALT1: is fine with us. --Nvvchar. 14:25, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
I wouldn't say the original was substandard for DYK; the ALT is more interesting but harder to parse and introduces a AM/BR spelling conflict. Go for it; it's not going to shake the foundations of the earth. Belle (talk) 01:29, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
