Miguel Pizarro edit

Pizarro in 2013
Pizarro in 2013
  • ... that Venezuelan politician Miguel Pizarro helped form the Venezuelan student movement along with people like Freddy Guevara, Juan Requesens and Juan Guaidó? (replaced, see ALT2 below) Source: Spanish: "El nuevo líder de la oposición en Venezuela, Juan Guaidó[...] se vinculó al movimiento estudiantil de 2007 [con] Juan Requesens, Stalin González, Miguel Pizarro y Freddy Guevara"; English: "The new leader of Venezuela's opposition, Juan Guaidó[...] formed the 2007 student movement [with] Requesens, González, Pizarro, and Guevara" (El Espectador)

  • The article has been more than sufficiently expanded within the 7 days prior to this nomination. There are no major prose or neutrality problems. However, quite a bit of the article is unsourced, so please make sure that all material is supported by a reliable source.
Both hooks are quick and hooky. ALT1 seems fine, but I see a few issues with ALT0 (original hook). First of all, is "the Venezuelan student movement" really the correct name? There may be multiple Venezuelan student movements and I don't think "the Venezuelan student movement" is the actual name of it, or at least it isn't mentioned in the article. Second, nothing about Freddy Guevara, Juan Requesens, or Juan Guaidó is mentioned in the article.
The image looks fine and is freely licensed, but it is not used anywhere in the article itself, which is a requirement for DYK. A QPQ has been completed.
So, to reiterate, the specific issues with this are unsourced material in the article, two issues with ALT0, and the fact that the image supplied with the nomination is not used in the article. Overall, the article and hook seem well-written and interesting, so thank you for your work. Once these issues are addressed, this should be good to go. :-) Cheers, --SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 04:44, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
  • Just for clarity, here are a few specific unsourced areas I've noticed: all of the "Early life" section, the last part of the "2007 Student movement" section, the first two paragraphs of the "National Assembly" section, all of the "Reelection as deputy" and "Presidency of the Commission for Social Development" sub-sections, and the last sentence of the first paragraph in the "Human rights activism" section.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 04:50, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
Yes, thank you for the reminder! Kingsif (talk) 02:29, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
  • @SkyGazer 512: The updates today should have covered refs & added the image. Kingsif (talk) 20:46, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! Will review.--SkyGazer 512 My talk page 13:30, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, Kingsif! My sourcing concerns have been addressed, as well as the whole image thing. However, my concerns with the original hook still remain. I'm not sure that "the Venezuelan movement" is really the correct name for it (although I could be wrong) and the material along with people like Freddy Guevara, Juan Requesens and Juan Guaidó is not mentioned in the article (DYK requires that all hook material is cited in the article). Cheers, --SkyGazer 512 My talk page 13:47, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
The name in Spanish is "movimiento estudiantil", literally "student movement", I'll get to adding that info. I don't have any issue with alt1 being used over the original, though. Kingsif (talk) 13:51, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
Ah, thanks, that's helpful. In that case, maybe it would be better to specify that and link to Movimiento Estudiantil (Venezuela) or something?--SkyGazer 512 My talk page 18:22, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
@Kingsif: I've added the translation of movimiento estudiantil to the article; could you add the info about along with people like Freddy Guevara, Juan Requesens and Juan Guaidó with a source? Also, what would you think about my suggestion for the hook? If you would like, I'm okay with simply striking ALT0 and going with ALT1. Thanks!--SkyGazer 512 My talk page 19:38, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
Added to article, I don't mind which hook is used. Kingsif (talk) 19:58, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
@Kingsif: Great, thanks. What do you think about my suggestion of linking to the movimiento estudiantil page in ALT0? As I said, simply "the Venezuelan student movement" may be confusing to readers. I'm thinking something along the lines of helped form the Movimiento Estudiantil (English: "student movement"), but I'm not completely sure that would be the best idea. I could suggest an alternative hook to ALT0, but then a new reviewer would have to approve it. Really the only reason it needs to be tweaked is to avoid having just "the Venezuelan student movement", as that kind of wording is confusing. I'm open to other suggestions! Cheers, --SkyGazer 512 My talk page 19:53, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
How about change ALT0 to ALT2: ... that Venezuelan politician Miguel Pizarro helped form Venezuela's Movimiento Estudiantil ("Student Movement") along with people like Freddy Guevara, Juan Requesens and Juan Guaidó? Kingsif (talk) 19:57, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the suggestion! ALT2 looks fine at first glance but I'll take a closer look tomorrow, as I've got to go to bed now, but this should be very close to approval. I'm going to strike ALT0.--SkyGazer 512 My talk page 03:35, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Sorry for the late response, I meant to do this a few days ago but got busy. ALT2 looks good to me; approving either that or ALT1! Everything in it is mentioned in the article and supported by a reliable source. It's interesting and I do not see any unclear parts of it. I can't verify the sources word for word as my Spanish knowledge is extremely restricted, so assuming good faith there. Thank you for fixing the issues, Kingsif.--SkyGazer 512 My talk page 14:52, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
