  • New enough, long enough, well-referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. No QPQ needed. Regarding the hook, I find the first one rather vague, considering that most readers will have never heard of him, and the second hook full of other links (Herman Melville, Moby Dick) that readers will probably click on instead of the main subject. (ALT1 is good, though; can we run it without those extra links?) I added some sources to the page to give an idea of his "larger than life" status; alternately, you may wish to use something from that, or from another source, that would focus the attention on him in a hook. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 23:55, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Thanks. I'm struggling to find another good hook idea. I like ALT1 too, and have no objection to removing the other two links, so I've gone ahead and done that. Indeed, DYK is one area where a strong case can be made for underlinking. However, we should expect the possibility of someone else putting the links back in at some later point... • I agree; let's give in a little and re-link Moby-Dick. Offline hook ref AGF and cited inline. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 12:10, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Thanks. A nice compromise. I'm happy. Edwardx (talk) 12:13, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
