Kyle Jean-Baptiste

edit

Created by Cagepanes (talk). Nominated by George Ho (talk) at 15:43, 31 August 2015 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - The first source, NY Times, states, "the first African-American actor to play the lead role of Jean Valjean in the popular Broadway musical Les Misérables". "Broadway musical" in the NYT links to a list of Current Broadway Shows. Therefore, we can only reasonably infer that Jean-Baptiste was the first African-American to play the role on Broadway, not globally as the hook might lead us to infer. The articel itself in "Career", states, "Jean-Baptiste became the first black and the youngest person to ever portray the character on Broadway". Hook should have "on Broadway" added at the end.
QPQ: Done.

  • Thanks. I've renamed the revised hooks as ALT2 and ALT3. Edwardx (talk) 23:01, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
