Hope Runs High

  • ... that in 2019, Hope Runs High started theatrically re-releasing documentaries directed by Lee Grant, marking the first time many of the films have been exhibited in decades? "I'm Like History Passing By: An Interview With Lee Grant". December 4, 2019.

  • New enough, long enough. QPQ Done. I tried to clean up the article to get it ready for a DYK Review. I just added the source for the hook above, @Lwottring: is that the right one? In any case, could you look at what I did and clean-up the article further. If you want all those subsections I suggest you add some more content to each of them. Also, there were way too many references for the amount of information you had there. Please give this a look and report back. --evrik (talk) 03:52, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
  • @Evrik: I'm not sure if Lwottring has any interest in coming back to Wikipedia because they haven't logged on in awhile. I will gave the editor time and if not, I will withdraw this nomination. SL93 (talk) 04:09, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
  • I will withdraw this. SL93 (talk) 20:16, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
  • I'd love to see this as a DYK. I see a number of the discussed edits have been made, what else needs to be amended to make this happen SL93? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lwottring (talkcontribs) 00:25, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
  • I will look at it tomorrow. I work tonight until late. SL93 (talk) 19:32, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
  • @Evrik: @Lwottring: The only problem I see is that the sentence "In 2019, Hope Runs High began to refocus on theatrical distribution, beginning with a limited theatrical re-release of documentaries by Lee Grant." is not currently referenced...although the article would be fine if that sentence was removed. SL93 (talk) 21:37, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
  • @Lwottring: @SL93: I'm going to ask that another editor take a look at this. I think the external links are too long. Aside from that I thinks its okay. --evrik (talk) 22:14, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Gotcha, thanks evrik, happy to go in and pull some citations if everyone thinks there are more than enough. I've added a citation for the line in question.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lwottring (talkcontribs) 18:36, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Lwottring, please note that when you fail to sign your post, any ping you attempt (like to evrik just above) does not go through. Only when the ping and the sig are made at the same time will the ping go through to its attended recipient. As a general rule, all posts should be signed (using ~~~~). Thanks. • @BlueMoonset: Can you give second opinion on this article? --evrik (talk) 23:41, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Article appears to be in better shape, and well sourced. I'm a little concerned about editorializing, but the main issue is that the hook isn't all that interesting. The article suggests the company may be actively a distributor of LGBT+ films, could something be written on that? Kingsif (talk) 12:21, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Removed extra comma, approving ALT1. Kingsif (talk) 14:55, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but I don't see an inline cite for the ALT1 hook fact, nor can I find it in any sources. Yoninah (talk) 21:01, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
  • @Evrik: thank you. But another cite from the organization's website? You know, this article comes across as extremely self-promotional. Yoninah (talk) 21:09, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: I have scoured the Internet, and I cannot find much written about the company. However, there is a lot written about the films that they feature. If you look at all the films they feature, it is a compendium of pieces on women LGBT and people of color. The hook is sourced, which is what you asked for, and mind you this is neither my article nor my nomination. If you would like, I can look at the article and see if I can come up with another hook.--evrik (talk) 21:40, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
  • I would actually be fine with closing the nomination. SL93 (talk) 22:32, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I noticed you said this earlier, and other editors rushed in to take over. But the company is too new and has done so little that we really do need to wait until it gets more press. Marking for closure. Yoninah (talk) 23:22, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
  • FWIW, I liked this because of its focus on "women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ " --evrik (talk) 15:06, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
  • evrik, Yoninah, Lwottring added five bare refs on July 13, though no mention was made of it here. Do any of them help with the hook sourcing issue? (If so, something further will need to be done: six refs in a row is excessive, and bare URLs have to be fixed before the nomination can be approved.) Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:56, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
  • The refs added nothing, and I have removed. All the sources deal with films and not the company. If you look t the films in their totality, you can see that the sentence is true. The hook is sourced, but not to Yoninah's satisfaction. --evrik (talk) 22:38, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
