George Dudley

5x expanded by Flibirigit (talk). Nominated by HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) at 18:58, 21 March 2020 (UTC).

  • Huge expansion, neutrally written, well referenced, no copyvio concerns raised by Earwig, and QPQ done. Hooks are all cited, some more interesting than others, and comply with DYK policy. My own preference would be the main hook, but for punchiness we might take out “Canadian Amateur Hockey Association president”? Could you live with that, HickoryOughtShirt?4 ? Moonraker (talk) 23:42, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Moonraker, Ya, that's fine. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 23:43, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Ready to go, with main hook as pruned. Moonraker (talk) 23:57, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
@Moonraker: and @HickoryOughtShirt?4:, the review does not appear to have considered the special occasion request for April 19, as mentioned in the comment field above. Flibirigit (talk) 02:47, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
Flibirigit, the special occasion holding area is now at the bottom of DYK/Approved, but I can’t find a rule that says how nominations get there. The birthday does not strike me as the most awfully special of occasions, but let me ask Gerda Arendt to advise on this. Moonraker (talk) 03:14, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
Normally, the one who approves also moves to special occasions, but anybody who wasn't involved in the writing can do that. I volunteer. A birthday is a good occasion ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:41, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
