Frankenstein vs. The Mummy edit

5x expanded by SL93 (talk). Self-nominated at 01:04, 6 February 2019 (UTC).

  • Article was recently expanded 4x, it's within policy and lists enough sources to qualify as start-class. QPQ completed. The hook is hilarious because these is more than just one mummy in the world (there have been thousands, perhaps even millions, of mummified remains in the history of humankind), yet the language here implies that there has only ever been one mummy, and that Frankenstein's monster has finally gotten around to fighting it. Maybe this is a good thing? It sure did grab my attention, which is what hooks should do. I do think the detail of this movie being made in 2015—84 years after Frankenstein's first appearance onscreen—is important. So I'm leaving a couple of alternate wordings as additional suggestions while I go and find this film to see who wins this fated battle. Morganfitzp (talk) 03:23, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
  • Sure, I'm aware of The Mummy vs. mummification in general. It was the space in between my knowing that and imagining users coming across the hook and saying, "The Mummy? Which one?" that struck me as hilarious. Go ahead. Keep it. The fact that I'm silll talking about it must be the sign of a good hook. Just add that the film was from 2015. The interesting thing is that it took someone that long to finally get these two icons of the undead to finally duke it out onscreen. Morganfitzp (talk) 20:58, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
  • A review of the alts by another editor is needed. SL93 (talk) 02:37, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
I kind of like the hook, but considering how relatively recent The Mummy franchise is (isn't it only about 20 years old?), I can see why there might be signs of confusion. That and the film isn't a Universal film to begin with. Perhaps something else could be suggested here? The part about hair might be a good start. The original Mummy franchise is from the 1930s. SL93 (talk) 11:14, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
Still, my point about the Universal thing stands. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:23, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
ALT4: ... that in the 2015 film Frankenstein vs. The Mummy, the director designed Frankenstein's monster to look like a muscular zombie with long black hair? SL93 (talk) 17:13, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. Given the circumstances, ALT4 is probably the best option here. Let's go with that, rest of the review per Morganfitzp. Good to go. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:43, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
