Fawazeer Ramadan
- ... that a Ramadan television show featured riddles, music, choreographed dance routines and fantastical narratives? Source: The Fawazeer, or riddles, is an inherently Ramadan invention. Broadcast for the first time in 1967, each of the 30 fawazeer episodes contained a riddle revealed at the end of the month, realised in a series of interconnected stories peppered with song and dance...combining elaborate sets, garish costumes, infectious tunes, and inventively choreographed dance numbers with fantastical narratives, laced with surrealism. - Article is confirmed to be a 5x expansion and is free from close paraphrasing. Two QPQs have been provided. However, at its current state, the article is not yet ready for DYK. For one thing, the hook does not match the source: the source does not use the term "outrageous" but rather "fantastical", which isn't exactly synonymous. In addition, the article also needs a copyedit for grammar. Finally, there are some inconsistencies in the article: the article body states that it ended in 2000, but the article later mentions revivals later on. Indeed, the table shows that it did not actually end until 2003, with revivals taking place in 2013 and 2022. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:07, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: Thank you for reviewing and for catching errors. I thought outrageous captured the meaning of "fantastical" but probably not close enough, I have updated the hook by removing outrageous. I have just copyedited for grammar but if you see grammatical errors please point them out or for expedience please edit the article. Per edit summary attribution, I moved the table from the AR Wiki and I cannot find sources to confirm the two entries - I am also not able to go through each entry and confirm so I removed the table. Additionally the bit about it ending in 2000 was not found in the Arabic source: that was a legacy sentence from before the 5x expansion so I erased it. Thank you for catching the errors, I also updated the article to reflect that it began on radio. I also changed the infobox to reflect what is known. Bruxton (talk) 15:00, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

wording. The fact itself could stay, but it sounds vaguely promotional and thus could be revised. "satellite television" is also improperly capitalized. With regards to the hooks, I think hooks based onThe show was discontinued as critics complained about the secular nature of the programming. Specifically, critics objected to the sensuality and dancing.

The article itself could still use further copyediting, but given that Eid al-Fitr is fast approaching they will need to be done as soon as possible so the article can make it. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 02:45, 3 April 2024 (UTC)- I erased the borderline-promo sentence from the Cheverolet bit, and I capitalized Satellite at the beginning of a sentence. Please do copyedit if you have time, it is sometimes easier for another editor to see the problems that are missed. Regarding other hooks, I want to avoid the negativity of the bits about ridiculous, gaudy, sensual out of respect for the religious holiday. Bruxton (talk) 15:04, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- Fair enough. This should be okay for Ramadan now. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:46, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
