Fake news in India

* ... that to combat fake news in Kannur the government conducted fake news classes in schools? Source: Kannur has been in the grip of fake news and viral hoaxes travelling on WhatsApp in recent years. To combat this, district officials have now begun 40-minute-long fake news classes in 150 of its 600 government schools.(BBC)

** ALT1.1:... that India has 23 official languages, but companies like Facebook have only been able to vet fake news in 10 of them?

  • Comment since the alt was empty I wrote one myself. I also added a bit of information to the article for context. Trillfendi (talk) 20:54, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. That's an interesting DYK. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 04:56, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

  • ALT0 doesn't work. It suggests that the article is regarding Fake news, and that the government were teaching schoolchildren to create this. Item was created in time, no copyvio, and of correct length. ALT1 needs a little cleanup, as this isn't just a thing contained to facebook. The article has some issues with WP:REFBOMB as well, that will need cleanup. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:37, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
Working: Thanks for the review. Will try and sort out the article. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 13:27, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
Lee Vilenski, please could you just give one or two examples of the issues the article has with WP:REFBOMB. Accordingly I will do remaining cleanup. Thanks DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 02:36, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
Sure, you have three places where you use four references to cite one piece of information (such as "cease-and-desist letters.[46][47][48][49"). 2 is fine, 3 is a little overkill, four is too much. Just use the ones that are most important. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:17, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
Lee Vilenski, I think I have sorted out the issues you pointed out relating to WP:REFBOMB. Please check. I have also added an alt dyk and rephrased alt1 as you had pointed out. What do you think? 12:11, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
