Sadly, a needed good report, on good sources, French source accepted AGF (I can read the German), no copyvio obvious. I prefer the original hook, as more about him. - How do you feel about an infobox? - I feel that "and is fluent in French, as well as being a French citizen" could be worded better, - it tells me that he is being a French citizen ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:07, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Gerda: I'd agree it's a bit clunky, but one does not necessarily imply the other, does it? Surely there is a population of French-born individuals outside France, as with any other country, who are not fluent in the language of the country they were born in. Vanamonde (talk) 04:51, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
I didn't say don't mention it, nor am I - not a native speaker myself - the right person to change (or I would, - I don't bother with small things I can fix myself. If you say you don't hate an infobox, I make you one, for example.). It reads wrong to me, - "is" here and "being" there. It should perhaps go to the lead also, no? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:32, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
Gerda: Fair enough. I think the word order is okay, to be honest, I try to mix things up to avoid very dry prose. You are probably right about the lead, I'll do that. I'm not certain about an infobox; my personal philosophy is that an infobox is only useful when it would present information that is not in the first paragraph of the lead, and that would not be true in this case. If you think it would be helpful, though, I won't argue. Regards, Vanamonde (talk) 06:20, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
I find it useful just for a format of the DOB that translates easily to other languages ;) - English: can you say "He is being a French citizen." If not, I see a problem. How about: He was born a French citizen ..."? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:56, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
Gerda: I don't know if he was born a French citizen, though. Citizenship rules are complicated! All I know is that he is now..."being a French citizen" would be bad grammar by itself, but along with the other clause, it's okay. Vanamonde (talk) 12:09, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
If we don't know when, how about separating the language, mentioning the citizenship later? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:03, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
Gerda: Good idea, done. Would you mind ticking this again, as I understand the bot occasionally gets confused. Regards, Vanamonde (talk) 16:58, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
I don't mind, - thank you! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:01, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
