Interesting life on good sources, offline sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. Fine hook! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:50, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
I added a pic to the nom. Gerda, would you please retick? MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 02:25, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, Mandarax! The image is licensed, and welcome, and I ask David for cropping magic ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:43, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
  • @Drmies: could you use a more encyclopedic word than "got"? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 19:14, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
  • Yoninah, if you feel the need to change it to "managed to convince" or something like that, I guess you can do that, but like Lady Montagu I abhor prolixity. And I disagree with you. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 01:45, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
  • @Drmies: ooh, a new word! Thanks. In the article you wrote "persuaded". I wonder if we could use that? Also, the hook is over 200 characters, and since I want to use it in the image slot, we don't need to say he's African-American. I suggest writing it this way:
  • ALT1: ... that Clyde Foster (pictured), a mathematician with NASA, persuaded former Nazi rocket scientist Wernher von Braun to support a Computer Science program at historically black Alabama A&M University? Yoninah (talk) 10:39, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
  • Yoninah, Gerda Arendt thought it was a fine hook, and so did I. I still don't see the problem, but whatever. I guess Gerda needs to tick it again--Gerda, do you mind? Of course, if it gets run without image, "African-American" needs to be reinstated: that is what this is all about. Drmies (talk) 14:33, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
I don't mind, and I hope for pictured. If the four-syllable "persuaded" for a plain "got" is the prize, it's worth it, I guess, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:38, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
  • Thanks. I do intend to place this in an image slot. It's a great hook! Yoninah (talk) 17:37, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
