{{DYKproblem}} is a template that is used during the Template:Did you know verification process to notify nominators when an issue with their hook or nomination needs to be clarified (i.e. if the reviewer was unable to verify the hook or found problems with it, and marked it with or This article's hook is unsourced or too long or there are other content issues at the DYK nominations page). It asks the nominator to see the DYK nominations page to read the reviewer's comments and respond.

Usage edit

{{subst:DYKproblem
 | 1 = Article
 | 2 = Additional text
 | header = no
 | sig = no
 | nominator = yes
}} ~~~~

Parameters edit

This template has two numbered parameters (one for the article name and one for a user-defined message) and three named parameter. All parameters are optional.

  • |1=: The first parameter should be the name of the article nominated. This with create both a link to the nominated article, and to its entry at the DYK suggestions page.
  • |2=: The second parameter replaces the default "Thank you" message at the end with any other user-defined message. If left blank, the message defaults to "Thank you for contributing to Did You Know!"
  • |header=: The optional |header= parameter may be used to create a header. It defaults to "no," so normally no header will be created (which is useful, for example, if an editor is using the template when having clicked the "new section" tab), but if header=yes is specified then it will automatically create a level two section heading (useful if the editor is not editing from "new section").
  • |sig=: The optional |sig= parameter may be used to create a signature. It defaults to "no," so normally no signature will be created (which is useful, for example, if an editor is using the template when having clicked the "new section" tab), but if sig=yes is specified then it will automatically sign the post.
  • |nominator=: The optional |nominator= parameter may be set to "no" to create a message intended for an article creator who was not the article nominator, and who possibly doesn't know that their article is at DYK. This parameter defaults to "yes," and there is no need to change it or even include it when notifying an article nominator.
  • The |extra= parameter is deprecated (for now). For the moment, the template only supports the name of a single article.
