Merge Aug 2008

I agree that per WP:MOS-AM there should be one article about Zipang, including information about both the manga and the anime, and with the primary focus on the original work. --Kraftlos (talk) 07:20, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

• I disagree. The anime is a significant artistic work in its own right and, because of its American DVD release, is known to many who have never seen the manga. A separate article is justified. Anime is no more the manga than a movie adapted from a book is the book. Would you merge the articles on the movies "The Wizard of Oz" or "Gone With the Wind" with the articles on the source books? • Agree with Blackhawk66, the manga and the anime do exist separately, and should have separate articles. A complicating factor is that the anime article consists in large parts of episode synopsis synopsises episode summaries, plot details and universe description, which could presumably be merged; however there are enough differences (cast/seiyū, technical details) that separate articles are warranted IMHO. I'm removing the tag. (That said, the article for the anime is about twice the size, and some of the text could be used to flesh out the manga article.) 01:31, 29 October 2009 (UTC) magetoo

Kusaka

Odd that in the "Characters" section" there is no entry for Kusaka. He's a much more important character than some of those mentioned (the last 2 crewmen, at least). I don't have the Japanese knowledge to do it myself. Also wondering why the names have "voiced by" when this is about the manga, not the anime. 202.81.248.181 (talk) 01:26, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
