Peer Revising

edit

I fixed a few grammar errors, but you should still go through and check the rest. I like your use of citations; it really boosts your article's credibility. The examples for the sentence structures were nice too. My main complaint is really just the grammar, so be sure to check through that. SL98 (talk) 03:06, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for helping fix some errors! We'll be sure to copyedit when we prepare our final article. The silence (talk) 20:20, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Consider changing some of the headings and regrouping the sections. The content under Demographic doesn’t relate much to the demographic of Wuvulu. Good coverage of phonology and morphology. Example sentences could be added to the grammar section to improve it. Also be mindful, some ideas are awkwardly phrased or hard to understand. Lansings (talk) 23:22, 14 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Could you perhaps elaborate on changing the headings? Do you feel that some sections should be broken into subsections or certain sections should be grouped into one larger one? The silence (talk) 20:20, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Briefly read over the page and see where you can reword a few things, some sentences can be challenging to read and/or understand. In your current version, under the Grammar, Morphology, and Vocabulary sections, I believe some things were not formatted correctly such as the "Mood" maybe being a sub-heading, as well as some other new-line ([Enter]) characters. Lastly, revisit the uppermost of your page and fix the name of the language in the infobox. Elemasa (talk) 02:18, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the feedback! I also just noticed the infobox error on my revisit, so I've fixed that. We'll go through again and line edit to make sure our article has a good flow to it. The silence (talk) 20:20, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Like stated above, some of the headers could use a little work but those are quick adjustments. I think if you laid out the grammar section's sentence formats a little differently it would look a little less clunky and easier to read. I think it's a very good start, keep up the good work! Joshuahi (talk) 09:58, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the positive words! We'll definitely go through and find a way to change up how we formatted our grammar section to make it easier to read. The silence (talk) 20:20, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I edited some of the grammar and spelling for you, but be sure to review the rest of the page as you work through it. Remove pronoun usage in the article, this should be written more formally. For example, "if we classify it more explicitly" should be rephrased to something like "to classify it more explicitly." I would suggest adding links to other Wiki articles throughout the page, without repeating previously linked pages (Wuvulu Island is linked twice). Kdlee2 (talk) 19:34, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Good catch on the pronoun! We'll be sure to go through again and keep our tone formal throughout the article. We'll also copyedit our final article and add in links to other Wiki articles for other interesting topics we reference. The silence (talk) 20:20, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi, good job guys! I noticed the classification section needs to be cited. Also, there are some unknown characters in the morphology section. Rrrupley (talk) 20:26, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

In the demographic section, I will research more about custom and society that is related to language. Thank you for coming up the idea!JIAFU (talk) 04:17, 17 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the feedback, will definitely reword some of the difficult areas. Hopefully this will make out content more digestable. --Emcho7 (talk) 17:07, 17 February 2017 (UTC)emily Emcho7 (talk) 17:07, 17 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
