We should mention in the article that WTCQGD doesn't screen or recommend the teachers it lists based on any vetting process, pretty much anyone who says they are a teacher can be listed. --Fire Star 16:25, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think the article should mention the fact that a directory is maintained. I'm aware of several Tai Chi instructor directories, but none of them have any kind of vetting process that I know of. Probably because Tai Chi does not have rankings or belts or other globally recognized ways of establishing credentials. (there are in China, and that would certainly be a worth while article for someone to research and create) Redwoodtwig (talk) 05:20, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

It is a fact that the event occurs edit

And thus I feel the article needs to exist; but I do agree it is in serious need of a rewrite.

I went to Bill's first World Tai Chi day event in Kansas city, and since then I've been to events every year, though in other towns, mainly St. Louis and Columbia. It's a movement that still has ties to Bill's initial organization, but has grown quite beyond them. It is worth while to have an article about "world tai chi day", perhaps including references or paragraphs about "world healing day", "word gigong day" and some of the other events that have joined this one at various times and with varying visibility.

I think Bill needs to rewrite this article from the third person and simply describe the history and activities of the legally existing organization behind worldtaichiday.org in a factual manner. It currently is much too promotional and contains too much fluff. The tone currently matches quite well with the words used in the website, and they are perfectly appropriate there, but not appropriate here, I think.

existence of an article isn't only dependent on the existence of the event, see wikipedia's notability requirements: WP:N. IRWolfie- (talk) 14:37, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Regarding "citation needed" for Billdouglastaichi's edits. I am the international coordinator for World Tai Chi & Qigong Day edit

Regarding "citation needed" for Billdouglastaichi's edits. I am the international coordinator for World Tai Chi & Qigong Day. So in the case of the first edit saying "citation needed", for example, I don't believe it is.

Also, I want to note that in the past, we posted a series of photos submitted to our international organizing center of this event by local organizers, and someone edited the article on World Tai Chi Qigong Day and removed those photos.

The other facts regarding this event, such as "200 people" at the first event, should not be challenged either. We have a photo of the first event, and anyone with eyes can see that it is at least 200 people in attendance. Also, the CNN Headlines News coverage of that event is a fact. People saw it around the world. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.199.22.41 (talk) 02:40, 14 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

clarification Needed edit

someone needs to correct the Brazil reference from "Council" of Deputies to the proper term "Chamber." This would make it easier to understand the relevance of the provided information. 172.102.183.128 (talk) 19:02, 4 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
