Why does the summary paragraph say (March 21, 1951 – November 3, 1996) but a later paragraph give a different date: "he died after a performance in Fresno, California, on November 2, 1997.[3]”? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.11.229.139 (talk) 05:30, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

Both are given in the article sources: Blues Access – Nov. 3, AllMusic – Nov. 2. A quick Google search shows more 2 than 3, so used that (with a footnote about 3). —Ojorojo (talk) 15:28, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
