Can you point me one useful reliable source where Charles University was called "Karl Friedrich University". To be precise, it was called "Charle-Ferdinad University" before 1918 (after emeprors Charles IV. and Ferdinand III.). There was after all no monarch called Friedrich after whom the university would called (Holy Roman Emperors Friedrich I., II. and III. were not kings of Bohemia).
