My involvement edit
I did not like the script but agreed to film my scenes quickly in August 1984 before beginning "A View to a Kill". However when Richard died on Sunday 5th I decided I didn't want to be in the film any more and therefore dropped out. (SirRogerMoore (talk) 21:10, 16 October 2014 (UTC))
- Even if that is true and you are who you say you are - which I doubt - the text you reverted:
Roger Moore declined to reprise his role from The Wild Geese, feeling it wasn't right for him.
- was entirely accurate. It just didn't give a timeline. It's clear from contemporaneous reporting on the film who the cast was in the weeks leading up to shooting. Moore was never listed as being in the cast at that time. Then when Burton died, the only one who was replaced was Burton. Obviously if Roger Moore had been involved at all in those weeks, it would have been reported on, especially as he would have been the only other returning star from the first film. Moore may well have declined a role, but most likely it was well before principal photography was scheduled to begin. - Gothicfilm (talk) 23:24, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
- After I left the script was rewritten so that the character I had played in the original film, Shawn Fynn, did not appear in the sequel. (SirRogerMoore (talk) 15:22, 17 October 2014 (UTC))
- And there was no reporting on this. Most likely because an early offer was made, and declined, well before principal photography was scheduled to begin - and well before Burton died. If Roger Moore had left the film days before shooting was to start, right after Burton had passed on, that would have made the press. - Gothicfilm (talk) 20:02, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
