Balboa Park

  Resolved

@Fuzheado: Thanks for mentioning Balboa Park. I meant to include this. I'll see if I can add some sourcing to verify the Balboa Park event. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:14, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

I added a WMF blog source, but will continue searching for a news source... ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:22, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
There may be other sources, but I added the Convene source for now. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:00, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

2018

Where, when? Or not decided yet? Randy Kryn (talk) 12:04, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

@Randy Kryn: Undetermined, as far as I know. I believe Ohio is being considered (?). If you're looking to discuss the conference itself, and not the Wikipedia article, you may try Wikipedia:WikiConference North America or the Meta-Wiki page. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:20, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, just trying to determine the dates and site early. Right, would you mind if I moved this section to the WP link? Randy Kryn (talk) 14:23, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Sure, no problem. No harm leaving here, either, just wanted to offer the other links in case they were helpful. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:26, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, will leave this here then in case anyone else has the same question and they can check the useful WP link, and this section can be updated when the dates and place are decided. Randy Kryn (talk) 14:30, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Feedback?

@Bluerasberry, Brianhe, FloNight, Fuzheado, Kirill Lokshin, Montanabw, Peaceray, Pharos, Phoebe, and Rosiestep: Just pinging some folks who are a bit more familiar with this topic and soliciting feedback as to whether or not this draft should be moved to the main space. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:47, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

There is also Wikipedia:WikiConference North America, but this draft is far more complete. I agree that we should move it into the main space. Peaceray (talk) 17:55, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
@Peaceray: But Wikipedia:WikiConference North America is a Wikipedia project page, not a content page. The project page is used to organize the event. What I'm proposing is an actual Wikipedia article about the event. Thanks for your feedback. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:58, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
I support this draft. I made a technical request at Wikipedia:Requested_moves/Technical_requests#Uncontroversial_technical_requests for an admin to make this live. Blue Rasberry (talk) 18:00, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Thank you! ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:01, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Moved ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:39, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Saw your ping. Article looks good at first glance. Don't be surprised if someone AfD's it for "navel gazing". I've seen objections to WP coverage of WP-culture before. Brianhe (talk) 20:49, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
@Brianhe: Yeah, I'm prepared. At worst, the article can be moved back over to draft space, but surely editors can see this article is not worth deleting altogether. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:58, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
Also, this article is of much better quality than Wiki Conference India, which has survived for years. ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:38, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
@BobCummings: Please see Brianhe's comment above to see why I removed your addition to the article re: peer review. I appreciate this update, but I don't think we should use the conference wiki itself as a source. If you're aware of secondary coverage, do please share. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:22, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
@Another Believer: Thanks,Another Believer . I understand. I will work on locating suitable secondary coverage. Bob Cummings (talk) 23:40, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, Bob! ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:41, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

@Dominic and Hexatekin: Also pinging you two in case you're familiar with other sources to add to the article. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:38, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
