Werner is not known as a Count of Valenciennes in primary sources and there is no consensus in secondary publications. The county we can be most sure of him holding was in the Hesbaye region, but he was also NOT count of that whole region. Proposed name:

I have noticed that Hlawitschka indexes him as Werner, Count in Hesbaye (Werner, Gf. i. Haspengau) [1] --Andrew Lancaster (talk) 07:18, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
