Wayne MarshallWayne Marshall (disambiguation)

Neither Wayne Marshall (conductor) nor Wayne Marshall (deejay) is much more notable or famous compared to the other one. So main entry should be disambiguation. Netrat (talk) 13:05, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • The conductor has had 1131 page views, the deejay 395 page views. The conductor was at the primary page, so this may be inflated by people heading there when they were aiming for the DJ - however, if this was the case, they would then have clicked onto the DJ's page, so this should be quite accurate, and the conductor has been getting nearly three times as many page views.
  • The conductor has 11 page links, the deejay 2 and it was previously nominated for deletion because of lack of notability, so neither appear particularly notable, but the conductor is mentioned on WP more than 5 times more than the deejay.
  • Google search, over 11,000 article returns for "Wayne Marshall" deejay and over 8,000 for "Wayne Marshall" conductor. Not all the deejay pages refer to this deejay; some, but not many, of the conductor's references will only mention him as pianist or organist so I think overall it's very close, probably with a slight edge to the deejay.

I disputed this because the nominator's initial reasons seemed to indicate that he/she had misunderstood what I was trying to do with the page (which doesn't now seem to be the case) and because I felt it was being done a little aggressively and without consultation. I think this is quite borderline so I won't be voting either way in this. Boleyn2 (talk) 19:12, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The move request seems to be mis-stated. The intended move appears to be

    • You are deadly wrong. After sorting out and fixing links it turned out that 9 Wikipedia articles link to conductor, while 12 Wikipedia articles link to deejay. And to makes thinks tricker, there seems to be a rugby player with the same name. Netrat (talk) 20:12, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Again, the language and attitude is aggressive and proves my earlier point. My overall conclusion was that primary target could not be clearly proved - so actually we're agreeing with each other on the main point, and I'm confused as to why this has continued.
