Proposed merge of Grimes Manufacturing Company into Warren G. Grimes edit

only one article is justified, not 2 DGG ( talk ) 07:38, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose: Could you explain why you feel this is the case? Although I may have done a poor job of establishing it (finding sources that establish market penetration in a non-WP:PEACOCK way is difficult), Grimes Manufacturing is a very notable company in the aviation world, having likely made the vast majority of aircraft lights for American warplanes during World War II and for many years afterward as well. In addition, the two articles discuss distinct concepts one is about the man, the other is about the company. Admittedly, the Warren G. Grimes is a bit light on details about the individual, but he is notable in his own right. –Noha307 (talk) 19:37, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per Noha307: I agree that the two articles cover different-enough topics to justify separate articles. WaddlesJP13 (talk | contributions) 20:02, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • I think a merge wouldn't work as well, as Waddles said. Those finding an article about the company would want to read about the company, not the founder. pandakekok9 (talk) 04:47, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Closing, given the consensus not to merge. Klbrain (talk) 14:03, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
