Translate before editing

There are two problems with this article, first it is a poor translation from the Spanish, and two, there are few references. I'd like to fill this article out and work on making it legible and well referenced. However, I have a question for the editors In your experience is it counterproductive to improve the translation of the page prior to conducting the research? I want the article to be legible as soon as possible because this subject is dear to me, but I know that it seems backwards to correct something that might be re-written in the near future by me. Any suggestions?

It is really up to you to decide which way you would prefer to do it, but I agree that it is desirable for the article to be legible as soon as possible, so I would prefer the "improve the translation first" approach, unless you feel the amount of work needed to do that is too much to be worthwhile. That is, of course, just my opinion, and for the present I will leave your help request open in case anyone else has any opinion to offer. Please remove or close the request if you think you have had enough help, so that editors don't waste time checking a help request that no longer applies. I'd say that's something of a personal preference. I myself would start with the research, but improving the legibility of a poorly-sourced article is still an improvement - if you think doing that first as a stop-gap measure before looking into the references is worth the extra effort it will likely cause, go for it.
