Image of Thing art edit

Would the image of the "VW 181-themed art sculpture" and subsequent mention thereof added by User:Montrose Patriot be considered vanity-farming? Forgive my narrow viewpoint, but I fail to see how some not-notable car club's not-notable art project by some not-notable artist is relevant to this article. -- Krash 13:34, 9 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The picture of the Christmas Tree art sculpture was part of the Buffalo Bayou Partnership in Houston, Texas for Christmas 2005, and the Houston Art Car Klub contributed a sculpture made from car parts. I have been part of the Houston metro art car community for the past 3 years to which the owner of a warehouse (with stored art cars and a cadre of aircooled VWs) donated six hood panels from West German military 181s and several work sessions were called.

The 'HACKMas Tree' was created by members of the BFH Skate crew; if anyone objects to the art car community for art sculptures made from car parts, this is not a Jerry Springer discussion list.Montrose Patriot 00:11, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have no idea what Jerry Springer has to do with any of this. Please look up the word "censorship" and know that there's nothing arbitrary nor capricious about omitting the image or mention thereof. Please read Wikipedia:Vanity guidelines and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. And also Wikipedia:Importance and Wikipedia:Notability. -- Krash 02:24, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Shoot, now I want to see what this sculpture looked like.--Aaslatten 13:25, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

It seems to me that what this model "should" have been officially called is statement of opinion lacking all academic merit. If no reasoned objection comes forth I will edit that passage to a higher standard. --Glen

Revert edit

I reverted to remove the ad for Cars the movie (I don't remember a Thing appearing in it, but I could be wrong), and the fact that the anon. user who made the edit failed to close the table properly. UltraNurd 15:41, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

RocketMan edit

Didn't Harland Williams character, Fred Randall, drive a Thing in the movie RocketMan —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Argon Darkwood (talkcontribs) 10:25, 30 March 2007 (UTC).Reply

Kübelwagen edit

The article calls this vehicle a "Kurierwagen" and only refers to the WWII type 82 as "Kübelwagen".

In the Bundeswehr, this type 181 was also commonly referred to as Kübelwagen (I know, I drove one during my time in the Bundeswehr). In fact, Kurierwagen was never heard in practice to my knowledge. Maybe that should be mentioned somewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sejtam (talkcontribs) 06:45, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
