She attended, likely graduated from Geneva College (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_College) She married Robert E. Patterson, fellow Geneva Alum and Civil War officer of the Army and Navy (Assistant Paymaster of USS Argosy, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Argosy), Patterson was an uncle of Robert Patterson Kennedy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_P._Kennedy).
