Il mio bisnonno Luciano Serpentello e sua moglie Justine Teresa Maistre-Serpentello erano residenti a Vignale. Il loro figlio, mio nonno Dante Serpentello, partì di casa all'età di 17 anni con un amico co-viaggiatore di nome Camillo Rossi, 25 anni. Viaggiarono via terra a Genova e poi in nave (Duca de Genova) alla fine di maggio 1910 a Ellis Island a New York City, con arrivo il 6 giugno. Uscendo da Ellis Island, il suo nome era scritto male e non veniva mai corretto. È diventato Daniel Serpentelli. My great granfather Luciano Serpentello and his wife Justine Teresa Maistre-Serpentello were residents of Vignale. Their son, my grandfather Dante Serpentello, left home at the age of 17 with a co-traveler friend named Camillo Rossi, age 25. They traveling by land to Genoa and then by ship (Duca de Genova) in late May 1910 to Ellis Island in New York City, arriving on June 6. Exiting Ellis Island, his name was mispelled and never corrected. It became Daniel Serpentelli. I'm taking my daughters age 14 and 19 to visit and find the Casa di Serpentello Luciano on or about December 28th, 2007. Luciano, a sculptor, died on February 1, 1941 and is buried in Trieste, Italy.
