Update Notable Investments Based on Current Portfolio

edit

  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

Update notable investments:

1. Remove Harborside.

2. Rename Marbella Apartments to The BLVD Collection. Replace 26th with 31st in both instances.

3. Add Haus25, the company's most recent development, which has its own Wikipedia page. Copy should read "Haus25 is the 7th tallest building in Jersey City and the 8th tallest building in New Jersey."

  • Why it should be changed:

1. Property was sold in 2023.

2. Property was rebranded. Common name is now The BLVD Collection. It has gone down the lists of tallest buildings.

3. Notable development that has its own wikipedia page and is one of the tallest buildings in New Jersey

Notable Events From 2020-2024

edit

  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

1. In June 2020, the company reconstituted its board of directors, electing MaryAnne Gilmartin as chair. Gilmartin also served as Interim Chief Executive Officer prior to the appointment of a permanent CEO in 2021.

2. In March 2021, the company named Mahbod Nia as CEO. Nia has served on the company's board since June 2020. Concurrently, Gilmartin stepped down as chair and was replaced by former Lead Independent Director Tammy K. Jones.

3. In December 2021, the company rebranded, changing its name to Veris Residential. The new brand reflects the company's intent to transform into an "environmentally and socially conscious, forward-thinking multifamily company" through the sale of its office assets and the integration of ESG principles.

4. In April 2023, the company completed the sale of Harborside 1,2, & 3 in Jersey City for $420 million USD.

5. In 2024, the company divested its final office property, completing its strategic transformation.

  • Why it should be changed:

1. The reconstitution of the board marked a major strategic shift for the company following a proxy battle. The entire C-Suite was changed and the company a name, acts which both stem from this change.

2.The appointment of a new CEO is a significant event that links to the board's reconstitution, as is the appointment of a new chair.

3. Additional details explaining the stated differences between the former and new brand. Explains the strategy/purpose behind the rebrand.

4.Significant sale. Won several awards from industry organizations, including MHN, NAIOP, and CoStar. At the time, the sale of Harborside 1, 2 and 3 was the largest office sale year-to-date in the United States (by nearly $150M) and the largest multitenant office sale in the history of New Jersey.

5. Marks the completion of the company's transformation from a primarily office REIT to one with 100% multifamily holdings.
