A note of explanation on the “Further reading” section: The plan that I’ve been implementing on this page since I started it in February 2006 is to expound the matters listed in the “Further reading” section in the “In inner-biblical interpretation,” “In classical rabbinic interpretation,” and eventually in other “in interpretation” sections. This is of necessity an iterative task, and it will take some time before I can add interpretations for all the matters listed in the “Further reading” section. While I work on this project, I ask readers’ indulgence to allow the “Further reading” section to remain as a signpost to further additions to the article and studies elsewhere in the meantime.
