Not necesserily a valid idea. The problem with Saba (although he is the most important Italian poet of the last century, superior to both Montale and Quasimodo) is that he is largely untranslatable into English, and thus gets no attention in anglophone lit. crit. The source sited has no legitimacy whatsoever. Wood is an unknown entity, with a political motive, see his own blurb. Joseph Brodsky, who studied Saba in depht, never mentioned anything of the sort. Also, the allegations are based on the novella "Ernesto". By comparison Robert Musil covered similar themes, but suffered no such allegations.Galassi 03:56, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

But Musil published his novel. It isn't the case of Saba's Ernesto.

Added biographical content

I have recently added and corrected some biographical content.[1] The prose needs improving. It's basically just "he did this, then he did that." Six of the 8 paragraphs begin with "In (date) ..." What's really needed, though, is about the same amount of text on the man's literary influences and impact - that's way out of my league. I used Moleta (2004), which was praised by John Taylor in the TLS on 3 Feb 2006., and cited extensively by Taylor in 2008 --Anthonyhcole (talk) 13:01, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Inclusion into Category:LGBT Jews

My addition of Umberto Saba into Category:LGBT Jews has been reverted. This categorisation is supported by this source (by glbtq.com, a reliable source), which was cited on the List of LGBT Jews article, which I mentioned. The source given doesn't meet RS standards. The list of LGBT Jews has some OR and unreliable sources. Anne Frank is one example that needs purging.--Galassi (talk) 01:59, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
