Davis' birth date was changed in this unexplained edit in 2016, from the date of October 3, 1937, given in the cited source ("BARE", by Eagle and LeBlanc), to the alternative date of May 4, 1938. "BARE" gives two possible names - Tyrone D. Branch and Tyrone D. Fettson - and states in a footnote "Some sources give May 4, 1938, but the 1937 date is based on information from his funeral program", adding: "His parents have also been reported as John and Falker Davis." In a post on Facebook, the co-author Bob Eagle has commented: "I can see neither name [Branch or Fettson] in the 1940 census for Washington County, MS. I don't know how to resolve this." Comments here are welcome, but simply changing the date without providing a reliable source is unacceptable. Ghmyrtle (talk) 06:58, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
