Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge? The article now says the former, but the only article that links here is the latter. Could someone clarify where the work was done - one, the other or both? --rbrwr± 15:59, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)

As I understand it, Tunbridge Ware was made in both places, but particularly sold in Tunbridge Wells to people who would come to take the waters (Tonbridge was not a place of resort in the same way). rossb 14:34, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

The historic spelling of Tonbridge is Tunbridge. This was changed by the GPO after the coming of the railways to differentiate between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
