Some questions

1. Is Tubber a village in County Clare? If so, who says so?
2. Maps show a population centre called Tubber in County Galway that is 1.2 km from a church & primary school in Co Clare. Is there evidence that the two are the same entity? Is it a single village 1.2km in length?
3. If they are not the same entity, then what is the purpose of this article? Is it to describe the cluster of St Michael's church and national school at a T junction? If so, is there evidence as to what this cluster calls itself?
4. If they are not the same entity, is it to describe a Roman Catholic parish that has two churches in the vicinity? In which case all references to townlands would need to be deleted as the RC church does not own the land nor does it generally define its boundaries by townlands. Also, that parish seems to self-describe itself as "Tubber (Kilkeedy)".
5. If they are not the same entity, is it to describe a civil parish in which the the cluster of St Michael's church and national school is located? This civil parish is called Kilkeedy? In which case the history and geography material would be appropriate.
6. Are the cluster (it hardly deserves the name village), RC parish and civil parish sufficiently noteworthy to merit articles in their own right?
7. If not, which of the 3 entities ought to be the master (and so gets the name) with mentions of the others? Laurel Lodged (talk) 16:23, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Instead of going in the attack straight away, you could just take a look at the next section. I was there this afternoon and took these pictures to prove that there is a village of that name in County Clare. The Banner talk 19:17, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Secondly, you could use Google Maps to check if Galway-Tubber is signpost as so. I could not find any sign on Google Maps, but you can find a stone marker reading "Welcome to Beagh" (on the road from Galway-Tubber to Clare-Tubber, in the bend of the road). The Banner talk 19:33, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

About the RC Parish: according to "The diocese of Killaloe", p. 219, the official name is Kilkeedy, the common name Tubber. The Banner talk 19:48, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

• I am fine with the title "Tubber, County Clare". There are several places called Tubber in Ireland, so the qualifier is needed. Tubber is a small village or hamlet and a Catholic parish. The diocese entry for the parish gives the address as "Parish Office, Tubber, Co. Clare". The Catholic parish used to be called Kilkeedy, after the old Catholic church, now ruined. It has exactly the same extent as the civil parish of Kilkeedy, the same history and geography, so there is no need for two articles. The modern name is obviously the more likely search term, so that is appropriate for the article. The old name, "Kilkeedy", redirects to the new. Like Persia and Iran but a lot smaller. A whole lot smaller.

There have been too many bold moves and changes without discussion lately in this area. Why there should be controversy over these tiny rural villages and parishes is beyond my comprehension. Let us just record what the sources say and nothing more, avoid forking and place our priority on letting readers find what they are likely to be looking for as easily as possible. I took the liberty to change the overly aggressive title of this section. And in general: when you do not know Tubber, why are you editing and moving the article around? Why did you put your questions here and not on Tubber, County Galway? The Banner talk 07:13, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

I can live with the article as it now stands. It is in the standard form agreed at the consensus talk page. It has scarcely been worth the effort expended in cleaning it up. Laurel Lodged (talk) 19:39, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
