Areas for improvement   [file under Mentoring]

As previously posted on the initial author's Talkpage, this article has several areas needing attention.

First, even though this is a stub, an article consisting of a single sentence (I'm not counting the infobox — a dressed-up list of vital statistics) hardly makes a good Wikipedia candidate. The intro uses past tense ("had an estimated fortune") as if the man is dead or bankrupt, which he is not (according to the <refs>). The phrase "amassed an estimated fortune..." is more appropriate, since the text makes no mention of the notable Wall Street scandal and subsequent legal woes. It's this notability that sets Wikipedia articles apart from just internet trivia. In print journalism, this article would be said to be burying the lead.

The two bullet-point External Links, as originally written, ran into the infobox when rendered on screen, and were missing the needed Header. There are no {{cite web}} tags on the other links, among other problems they have. I'll address those in a separate discussion.

Rosie`s Bar Project 1996 - this is unsubstantiated and potentially defamatory. If you are going to make these sorts of allegations then you must substantiate them, preferably from third party and reliable sources. Moreover in defamatory cases you should act with with considerable care and justification. Wikipedia is not the place for this sort of thing - sue the guy if you have to. I have removed the text and I reproduce it below for you to edit if you are able to substantiate your claims.

Rosie`s Bar Project 1996

Mr Baines signed a formal agreement with Rosie Bernard in Monaco in 1996 he agreed to acquire all of the memorabilia and the permissions to use Rosie`s name and the digitisation of the signed walls at Bar Chatham. Mr Baines was to grant Madame Bernard a royalty for the use of the Memorabilia, referring to Rosie`s name and the name Rosie`s Bar for 20 years, he was partnered with a group that were going to install Rosie`s Bar in every one of their restaurants around the world. The formal contract was signed in the presence of two very prominent and long standing residents in Monaco.

Mr Baines made however no payments to Rosie Bernard. Mr Baines sold the project and received investment from Norman Barclay for the Rosie`s Bar project but never paid Rosie any monies, he sold the project on to a property and restaurant group called Grand Prix Cafes in London, two bars were set up one at La Rascasse Restaurant owned at the time by the Pass family, and the other in London. Mr Baines stole all of the Memorabilia which he took from Monaco to the Isle of Man.

The deal was agreed to with Rosie and her husband Jean Louis by Bette Hill and Tim Taylor who were all also due to receive royalties and received nothing, Bette had know Rosie due to Graham and Tim had known Rosie due to his own racing family over a 40 year period.

Mr Baines had agreed to fund the enterprise and let Rosie, Jean Louis, Bette and Tim down completely.
