Development of the trademark argument
editI'm pretty sure that the trademark argument wasn't created by Descartes as the article says here, just as Descartes merely restated the ontological argument for the existence of God - which was around since St. Anselm in the 11th century, or maybe even before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.69.231.220 (talk) 19:09, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- The trademark argument is different from the ontological argument. The trademark argument is about proving God's existence because, he claims, we could only have the idea of God within us if God put it there. The ontological argument on the other hand is about how the very definition of God implies his existence.
