Serious problems with the re-write edit

Unfortunately, I have had remove almost all of it today. It still consisted of verbatim paste and/or extremely close paraphrasing from the source documents. For example, see the duplication detector report comparing the WP text to one of the source texts. [1] The other source [2] which accounted for the bulk of the infringement on is too long for the duplication detector and had to be checked manually.

Those editors working on the rewrite must read WP:Close paraphrasing before proceeding any further with the draft. Note also:

More tips on how to approach the rewrite
  • Don't copy the material verbatim and then start changing a few words in it or moving the phrases around. First of all, this will almost always result in paraphrasing which is so close that it is a copyright infringement. Secondly, if you just change a word to a similar word, you risk distorting the meaning completely and making the article confusing or even wrong.
  • Instead, read the material. Digest it. Internalize it. Make sure you understand the outline of the subject well enough to explain it out loud to another person without looking at your sources.
  • Then make an outline of the facts only—no adjectives, no phrases, just the facts.
  • Now attempt a draft of the topic, just using your outline, preferably after not having looked at the source material for a few days. This will force you to write it in your own words — it's just too easy to be tempted to copy the perfect phrases that are found in professionally written material.
  • Draft your article gradually rather than rushing to get it into Wikipedia. This approach will result in more interesting and coherent content. It also allows you the time to review your work carefully for potential copyright violations.
  • Try to get help from several editors with the rewrite, especially ones who are experienced Wikipedia article contributors.

Grr. Funny thing, the duplicator website is blocked in Bahrain and I had to use a proxy to view it. OK, this time I won't make the same mistake. "copy the material verbatim and then start changing a few words in it or moving the phrases around." -- This is exactly what I did because of "it's just too easy to be tempted to copy the perfect phrases that are found in professionally written material.". This time, I will use my own structure of wording, it might not be as clear as it was, but at least this time it won't contain any CV or close paraphrasing issues. Thanks for caring enough to check the draft, I wish I went to DYK before so that I could have improved my style earlier. Bahraini Activist Talk to me 14:30, 20 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
By the way, about the BCHR report, can you contact an OTRS volunteer to check if they allow their content to be published under CC-By-SA 3.0? It's ticket #2011053010010714. (that ticket was used for images and I'm not sure if it applies for text or not, but I guess I can contact them again to see if they allow publishing of the text in Wikipedia). Comment edit

To Me, this deletion looks VERY suspicious. Copyright has often been used in the service of governmental cover ups. SHAME ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.226.249.207 (talkcontribs) 18:19, 24 February 2012
