This person, Tommy Gregory Thompson, was mentioned in a couple of articles on wikipedia. He should probably pass the notability test, if not notoriety, to have his own entry so that other 'missing' links to his character might be fixable. LairdUnlimited 17:43, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Allthingsgo

Cook Island connection...

edit

An IP contributor added this. I couldn't find any references to back this up, and the IP contributor added a bad reference. I think the claim he had a Cook Island bank account should be removed. Geo Swan (talk) 09:12, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lacks context, references

edit

This article assumes too much prior knowledge, lacks references. The subject is certainly interesting. Charles Clark (talk) 05:37, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

This entry is garbage!

Who wrote this god-awful thing? It just lists events. WHAT was he charged with? WHAT did he do wrong? WHY was he ordered to appear in court? WHY were U.S. Marshals looking for him? WHY was he arrested? What was this expedition?

This is one of the laziest, most poorly-written, least informative entries I've ever seen here. 75.143.48.130 (talk) 03:31, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I agree. I came here hoping for clarity after reading an article that he was never convicted of anything, but that he's being held indefinitely for "contempt of court". I thought people had a right to due process, so I tried looking it up here and it just states "serving his sentence" what sentence? and how can a sentence be contingent on handing over gold, isn't that extortion? Per that Guardian story, he has been sentenced to two years in jail, but that sentence is on hold while he's separately indefinitely jailed for contempt of court. Jpatokal (talk) 22:55, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Bad nehavior

It is the insurance companies, the Ohio financial barons, and the despicable attorneys representing them, particularly Quentin, who should be taken to task for abusing a genius who dedicated his life to deep sea exploration. 2600:8803:800:700:9537:8B7F:C675:8920 (talk) 22:53, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
