Tito Escort Battalion → ? – The battalion was there to escort all personnel of the Supreme Headquarters (Yugoslav Partisans), which it did, so the article should be renamed and changed accordingly. Serbian, Serbo-Croatian and Russian Wikipedias have more information on the subject. The official name is difficult to translate and adapt without being too lengthy, so conjecture may be necessary (the current title is already conjectural too, anyway). Maybe something like Escort Battalion of Yugoslav Partisan Supreme Headquarters, but other suggestions are welcome. Vipz (talk) 12:43, 13 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is the common name, why make it longer? Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 21:18, 13 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
I just did an edit to correct the role of the battalion in the article, but the title doesn't reflect the aforementioned fact. I thought it's imprecise and gives a wrong impression of the battalion's role for English Wikipedia readers. I acknowledge that this move request will likely fail per the common name policy (and the fact no adequate alternative exists), though discussion is welcome. -Vipz (talk) 04:54, 14 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. The correct course is instead to set up redirects from alternate names and list them in the article lead. Article names are not there to inform or (especially not) to correct readers but simply to get them to the information that they want. If an incorrect or misleading name is common, that fact is valuable content for the article, and should be expressed there and in redirects from better names. • Oppose. Per Andrewa, the current title is the common name and is not egregiously wrong or misleading. Tito was the supreme commander, so the escort battalion largely went where he did. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 09:03, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
