Biography overloaded with lists edit

It seems that nearly every singing engagement he ever had is mentioned in the Biography section. It isn't particularly interesting or helpful for a reader to have all that information; on the contrary, it takes attention away from the story of his life. Cutting that tiresome list down to about half a dozen outstanding examples, favouring the ones that include an interesting story of what happened that day or how the engagement affected the course of his career, would make the biography better. Also especially favouring any that can still be heard on recordings; while reading a complete list of every place he sang is drudgery, being able to hear him sing is much more worthwhile. TooManyFingers (talk) 14:24, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Look round: That is the Wikipedia style. It is not meant to be an interpretive essay, but the facts of the life and work. One can go to YouTube, etc, for examples of his voice. Ephraem 03:18, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia style certainly does not involve listing every single performance of the person's professional life. This article might not be doing exactly that, but it's dangerously close to it. 75 percent of that material probably needs to go. (For example, if the article on Placido Domingo was written in the same way, there would be, what, 50 or 100 pages of lists of concerts. Nobody wants or needs all of that. Parly's ten most well-known engagements would probably be enough.

You believe ten engagements make a career? Those listed are major role in important theatres. As for recordings, Parly made one commercial recording which is duly noted, and "pirate" recordings come and go regarding availability. Ephraem 03:27, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

Of course ten engagements don't make a career, but something like the ten best examples is usually a sufficient indicator of what kind of career it was. It doesn't do readers any good to know where he was every night for his entire life. The fact that such an effort is made to be complete actually ends up making Parly look less significant, not more; proudly displaying so many little bits of minor information tends to make it appear as though there's nothing important to say. Why don't you compare this page with other singers of similar rank. I see by your page, you have apparently created no articles, and this is the only page you have commented on. Why is that? Why Ticho Parly?
