- @Epicgenius: Hoping you can be on the lookout for an image of the hotel. So far I've only found images from the hotel (above). ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:06, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
- Another Believer, maybe I will go out and take a picture of the hotel when this current crisis is over. I was planning to take pictures of nearby NYC Landmarks anyway. epicgenius (talk) 18:09, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

- Unfortunately I missed my chance when the declination of the Sun was high and morning sunlight on this subject was frequent. In a few months the Sun will be more cooperative. Jim.henderson (talk) 05:17, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- Oh. The main entrance is on 56th Street. Good afternoon lighting may be available. We'll see. Jim.henderson (talk) 05:21, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Good Morning - So hopefully this provides some clarity as it is confusing. When the original hotel that is now known as Thompson Central Park - New York (located @ 119 W. 56th St.) opened in 1981, it was owned by the Jack Parker Corporation and was managed under the flag of Le Meridian. In the late 2010s the hotel left the Le Meridian Flag and became Parker New York. It was acquired by GFI Capital and Elliott Management in 2019 and is now managed by Hyatt under the Thompson Flag. Also in 2019, the former Viceroy Hotel (located at 120 W. 57th Street) left the Viceroy flag and rebranded as a Le Meridian. Everything in this article is correct and appropriate to the now Thompson Central Park. The Le Meridian is the former Viceroy hotel and is not affiliated with us. The confusion was that the photo that was formerly on the Thompson Central Park - New York page was of the Le Meridian (formerly Viceroy) property next door. It was never a photo of our hotel. The information included in this wikipedia page is all about the Thompson Central Park - New York and does not need to be split into two pages.

- Thank you Dkfreitas, your help is much appreciated. I did have a suspicion that there might have been confusion over the Le Meridien name, as it applied to two separate hotels. That makes sense now, sorry for the initial confusion.By "splitting the topic into two separate articles", I meant that (in case there was information about the former Viceroy in this page) the former Viceroy would have its own article and the Thompson Central Park New York would retain this article. However, I do agree with your assessment that nothing from the Viceroy is in this page. – Epicgenius (talk) 17:23, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Hi, yep, this confusion all comes from the photo that was previously used on the page for the hotel currently called the Thompson. It showed both the Thompson (formerly Le Meridien) in the background, and the Le Meridien (formerly the Viceroy) in the foreground. It was the only photo of the Thompson hotel structure at the time in all of Wikimedia, but it was thoroughly confusing, since the wrong hotel was actually in the foreground. I'm glad we now have an accurate photo of the Thompson Hotel for the page. I revised and rewrote a lot fo the historical section recently, and the page is, indeed, purely about the hotel currently named Thompson. :) Jamesluckard (talk) 23:42, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
