Still needs work edit

Why id the quote from Deloria in the article? It doesn't mention the 'red road'. And Donald Panther Yates aka Donald N Yates, Elvis is alive believer who also thinks the Cherokee come from Egypt, etc is not a RS for "The phrase is "The Red Road" has been picked up by many non-Native American writers, with possible New Age appropriations or their own ideas of what they think Native American ceremonies are like" although the statement is probably correct. I'm removing the random quotes. I think they're left over from an earlier version of this, that had lots of random, unrelated quotes. These should have been removed as well. - CorbieV 18:47, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

POV intro edit

The last three sentences of the intro are irrelevant to defining the topic of the article, and appear to have been added (and now re-added) by an editor who is biased again the "Red Road" concept. This is presumably because of the Catholic connection, as said editor has opposed Catholic content on other articles in the past. natemup (talk) 19:37, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nate, the content is sourced, and I have added two more sources. The Red Road has nothing to do with Catholicism, and the sourced content you've now blanked twice[1][2] is about the widely-understood reality that the over 500 extant Nations all have their own religious/spiritual ways. If you think the Red Road is about Catholicism, you clearly haven't even read the article. Cite a WP:RS source that says it does. You promote Catholicism on WP, and you have shown you are biased against neutrality when it comes to this issue. Additionally, Black Elk did not create the concept of The Red Road, and he only became Christian later in life, so whatever he reported earlier in life, his later conversion is irrelevant to this article. I am removing your attempt to bring Catholicism into this.[3] THAT is what is irrelevant. - CorbieVreccan 20:24, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've decided to leave the bit about Black Elk's conversion, but contextualize it. - CorbieVreccan 20:33, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
No one has ever shown me to promote Catholicism on this site, and my edit had nothing to do with Catholicism. In fact, it wasn't even an addition. It was a removal of POV content in the intro that does nothing to describe the subject of the article, but rather inserts one's personal view about a larger topic. natemup (talk) 07:27, 5 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
