"The Viking (1928) was the first sound feature film made in colour."

This is a very strong statement to make without providing a reference. If anyone can veryify this, please add a reference. P0per 05:35, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

See Fred E. Basten, In Glorious Technicolor (Easton Studio Press, 2005), and Richard W. Haines, Technicolor Movies: The History of Dye Transfer Printing (McFarland & Company, 2003). I have removed the claim that The Viking did not do well because it lacked dialogue. Many other features without dialogue did very well at the box office in 1928 and early 1929. — Walloon 00:55, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
