Role of the Resident Bunnies

edit

In between occasional photo shoots, what is their domestic role and what is the arrangement? Free board, lodgings and expenses in return for looking pretty and providing sexual services? Or do they actually receive a salary in addition to modelling fees? And are they actually prostitutes or does Heff stick with one "girlfriend" while the others are there just for show? (unlikely I'd have thought)

I think a section covering this topic would add to the completeness of the article.

By all accounts (from the many tell-alls), the girls get an "allowance" of $1000+ per week, but are not salaried/contracted. There are twice weekly sex nights, which are basically orgies that all official girlfriends must attend, and unofficial girlfriends and other girls also often attend. The main girlfriend sleeps with Hef other times and is the only one to sleep with him solo. I think it would be difficult to add to Wiki as it would need to be carefully cited. The tell-alls from past girlfriends would probably not be accepted. Hef and the three current girlfriends have confirmed all of it (except that participation on sex night is mandatory) - they have talked about the group sex, Holly being the only one who sleeps with Hef solo, and the allowance before. 81.1.75.141 17:55, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sounds really depressing for all of them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.125.217.48 (talk) 01:27, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Coordinates

edit

Whoever entered the old coordinates had them pointing to the wrong house. Perhaps the one that comes up when searching by the address, in some online maps. I reset the coordinates. For a visual reference, to confirm it's the correct house, go to http://www.playboy.com/worldofplayboy/hmh/tour/ .

Ban from the Mansion

edit

I was wondering if there is a list of people we could add that have received bans from attending events at the Playboy Mansion. I read that Luke Wilson the actor is one celebrity who has been banned (for impersonating Owen to enter, apparently). Also Eminem is banned for pouring water on someone. Rooms in the Mansion?

edit

From the article: The mansion has 22 rooms including a wine cellar, a game room, a private zoo and aviary (and related pet cemetery), tennis courts, a waterfall and a large swimming pool area (including a patio and barbecue area, the famous grotto, a sauna and a bathhouse). These features and many others have been frequently showcased on television.

This says that the private zoo, aviary, pet cemetery, tennis courts, waterfall and swimming pool area are all rooms inside the mansion. Is this true or has someone made an error? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.184.157 (talk) 15:22, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please add an external link to the Playboy Mansion article

edit

Could an editor please add the following external link to the Playboy Mansion article? http://www.charitypokertournament.net The description of this link should be: "Celebrity Poker Tournament at the Playboy Mansion on May 18, 2008."

Please also add a few sentences to the article, including the following information:

The Playboy Mansion hosts many charitable events, including the Celebrity Poker Tournament on May 18, 2008, which will benefit the Urban Health Institute.

You can use the following link as a citation for this information: http://www.charitypokertournament.net

Please add any other information from that website that would be of interest to the viewers of your Playboy Mansion article.

Thank you very much for your assistance in helping this worthwhile cause. I am not affiliated with this event, although I do donate my time for this charity. SchoolTeacher3 (talk) 02:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I forgot to mention the following information, which you might want to mention in your article: This charity event includes tours of the Playboy Mansion, led by Playboy Playmates. Guests may also have access to the infamous grotto (bring your own swimwear). SchoolTeacher3 (talk) 03:18, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Regardless of the worthiness of the charity, this link falls into several categories of links to be avoided including #1, #4, and #13. Since it violates #4 it also constitutes linkspam. Sorry. Kevin Forsyth (talk) 23:00, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Kevin,

Thank you for your response. Please let me know which of the following solutions will remedy this problem:

1. If we instead use the following link at CardPlayer.com, I believe it conforms with your rules: http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/article/11104/playboy-mansion-celebrity-poker-tournament-dates-set 2. If, rather than adding an external link, we instead add a short paragraph which mentions that charitable events occur at the Playboy Mansion, and use the link as a citation.

Please let me know which solution is best, as I'm sure you agree that this information is very relevant to the Playboy Mansion.

Thank you! SchoolTeacher3 (talk) 23:33, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I won't say it's a perfect solution, since the charity event is still somewhat tangential to the Mansion itself, but your second suggestion (a paragraph about charity events in general, with citation) seems a little closer to the spirit of the WP:EL policy. The Chicago mansion?

edit

Hefner has mentioned that the Chicago mansion is now part of the Art Institute of Chicago. However, that appears to be some distance south of the address listed here on the site: 1340 North State Parkway. However, its still possible, if the school has campus buildings scattered around town. Anyone know more about this?? --Ragemanchoo (talk) 09:02, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Movie

edit

On one of the episodes of Girls Next Door they are watching a movie that showcases the mansion before Play obtained it. I can't think of the movie name but if anyone knows I think it should be added. Missjessica254 (talk) 19:37, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Needs better photo

edit

The existing photo (Playboy_Mansion_North_Side_2007.jpg) of the front elevation of the building and property was taken at night and is far too dark to see detail. It should be replaced with a daytime shot. I uploaded a gamma-corrected version of the same file (+1.50 correction factor) in order to be able to see some detail on a properly gamma-adjusted CRT monitor. I consider gamma correction any greater than 1.20 to be excessive, as it brings out noise and makes images look grainy or blotchy. The shot looks like it was made with a simple point-and-shoot camera, with automatic flash. As a result, the foreground is overexposed and the main subject of the image, the building, is left in the dark. Sorry, but the existing photo doesn't come up to Wikipedia quality standards. —QuicksilverT @ 21:45, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just a note to tell you that Dirsmith uploaded some images related to the mansion that could be of some use. You might want to contact him for more. He doesn't know much about our policies and might need some help, but is eager to learn. -- lucasbfr talk 10:12, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
