Controversy?

Does anyone find it 'unseemly' that 'Richard', Patty's 'high-school boyfriend', was eleven years older than she was ( in real life ) in 1964? Costuming issues

I remember reading, once, long before the Internet, that it took Patty Duke over an hour to change from one character to the other. The costume change was practically from the skin out, including different types of stockings and both the makeup and (as is mentioned in the article) the hairstyle had to be completely redone. If anybody knows of an acceptable on-line citation for this it would be an interesting addition to the article.JDZeff (talk) 21:26, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Entire third season filmed in Los Angeles

It seems to be a clearly mistaken notion that only a portion of the third season was produced in Los Angeles, whereas in fact the ENTIRE season was shot there: the old New-York-based supporting cast such as Skip Hinnant, Jeff Siggins, John C. Attle, and Kitty Sullivan, for example, NEVER appear in the third season; only California-based actors such as Cathy Garver, Ronnie Schell, and Steve Franken are seen. And right from the start, the Lane house sets were different, and the locale of their house changed to a suburban neighborhood street (this even in the season's first-aired episode, which was definitely one of the early ones filmed, probably even the first, as it was the source of Jean Byron's "bad hair" cast shot used for the first several episodes, and the titles shot of Patty with her head caught in pipes under the kitchen sink). Timing of concept for show and the Oscar win

Early in the article it is stated that interest in developing the show came after Duke had won an Academy Award "the year before". In fact, the awards for 1962 were handed out in April of 1963, so this seems impossible. Later on in this article, it says production on the pilot began in January 1963, 3 to 4 months before she won the Oscar. There was likely legit motivation by the producers for her to star in the TV show, but her winning an Oscar doesn't seem to be it. Perhaps it was the glowing reviews for her Broadway and subsequent movie performance in The Miracle Worker? I don't know enough about the subject to be sure, but the article as written seems to be a bit off as far as timing of concept for the show and Duke's Oscar win. Correction: I see the problem with the second reference. While accurate, it's a bit misleading in stating that after she stared in her Academy Award winning performance - implying that the award as the motivation. However, the problem with the opening of the article still exists in that it states: The series was developed as a vehicle for teenage star Patty Duke, who had won an Academy Award the previous year. Since she won the award in April 1963 and it went into production in Jan 1963 and first aired in September 1963, the "previous year" part is inaccurate.
